Makenzie Turns 1

Well we had Makenzie's first birthday party this weekend. Her birthday was on the 23, Easter Sunday. I read in the newspaper that Easter only comes this early every 158 years or something like that. I think that it's kinda cool that her 1st birthday happened to fall on Easter. The party was fun and we were able to have it outside on the patio. Matt's family managed to get along and other then the fact they sat on complete opposite ends of the patio you would never know they hate each other.
Makenzie was adorable. Every time she opened a new present she would dance to the music and clap her hands. I was so glad that she finally did her little dance for everyone. That girl loves music. As soon as she is old enough I am going to put her into some kind of music class.
This morning we went to the doctor and got the 1 year shots. Not so fun, but Makenzie calmed down pretty quick. She still has an ear infection but hopefully that will go away soon. I am really glad she can eat anything we eat now because she loves to eat. The baby food is just no fun for her anymore. The doctor said she is just below the 3rd percentile though and I wonder how she can eat as much as she does and not be growing much. She is a year old and only ways 15 pounds. But, hey I think it's great because I don't break my back carrying her.
I came to the realization today that we are halfway through the quarter here at HBU and that was kinda exciting. Graduation is approaching quickly. December will be here before we know it. I've really gotta crack down these next five weeks.
